Jai Krishna

Another restaurant review coming in hot.

Jai Krishna is a Finsbury Park institution, serving authentic vegetarian and vegan food from cuisines all across India. You can eat in or takeaway, BYOB and it’s great for those on a budget.

It was a warm evening and the restaurant was packed so we opted to sit outside for our dinner. There are a few al fresco tables available but they’re not always ideal as Stroud Green Road can get quite busy and polluted.

The service is always friendly and welcoming and I look forward to chatting to the lovely owners whenever we arrive. The atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful and you never have to wait too long to eat even when the place is packed.

Now onto the food. We had a feast and I can say from the outset that everything was incredibly flavoursome and delicious. We started with popadoms and mango chutney, followed by the masala dosa, mattar paneer, okra curry, spinach dal and garlic paratha.

All the dishes were fresh, light and super tasty. The dosa was the highlight for me and Laurie loved the spinach dal. You can feel the love and care that goes into each dish and you leave feeling satisfied and comforted without breaking the bank. A win-win all round.

My rating system is always based on whether I would go back to the restaurant in question and for Jai Krishna, it’s definitely a 10/10 from me.
